#1. Displacement
River rocks possessing qualities of roundness choose me to be collected, washed and organized unnaturally. These natural objects holding time itself are individually wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, reorganized, documented and released on a different bank of the same river (upstream). Artist sits in presence of their ‘thing power’ (Spinoza) at each stage of the process for one to several days and invites others to join.
#2. Linear Spiral
Rocks from seasonally dry California creek beds possessing qualities of roundness choose me to be collected, washed and organized unnaturally. These natural objects holding time itself are linked together with sea salt, both cleansing and amalgamating; arranged in a contemplation of Spinozan ‘thing power,’ vibrational relationships, climate change, natural order and human intervention.
